Kiranns thoughts

It was a dark spring night and a lithe drizzle of rain fell from the sky. The sound of the horse carriage echoed between the houses of the street. Quinn and Kirann sat in silence, both in their own thoughts. Kirann was proud of his adopted son. He remembered the night he found Quinn.
He was traveling through a forest searching for special plants for a recipe that had to be plucked at a night with full moon, when he came to a clearing in the forest. He was so occupied with his searching that he missed the smell of blood that hung in the air. Before his feet he saw a massacre. Dark elven bodies scattered the forest floor. Led by his curiosity he walked to a body of a man close to him and inspected it. There were two bite marks in the neck of the body. And it still felt a bit warm to the touch so he must have been killed recently.
But a soft sound reached his ears. Kirann sat completely still. There he heard it again. It came from the middle of the clearing. Would there be still someone alive? Dark elves or vampires where both creatures that you wouldn't want to meet in a dark forest. Not even an injured one. But his curiosity won it from his fear. He took his knife in his hand and he slowly walked towards the middle of the clearing. And there two frightened blue eyes met his. It was a small dark elven boy. Tears were streaming over his face. But there was no blood on him not any mark that he had been bitten or hurt. Kirann was puzzled. Should he kill the boy? But those blue eyes looked so helpless. But that was strange. Normal dark elves had yellow eyes.
Kirann mumbled to him self: "My curiosity will kill me one day" He looked around. Normally Elves would cremate the bodies but that might attack the vampires. But he couldn't leave the bodies like this it would attract other predators. The dark elves had dugout a fire pit. It looked like they were planning to stay here for a while. So he started dragging the bodies to the pit. After a few bodies the little boy stood up and without saying a word he started to help. Than they pushed sand over the pit and laid stones on top. When the grave was covered as best as they could the sun already started to rise. Kirann had to go home and he started to walk away.
The boy followed him. Kirann didn't know what to do with this boy. He as a high elf couldn't care for the boy could he? He stopped and turned around. The boy looked up to him. His eyes begging for love. Kirann looked at Quinn now. How could he ever have thought of killing him. The carriage stopped and Quinns eyes flashed a bright Yellow. It brought a shiver down Kiranns spine. Even while he knew the yellow came from the lenses that Quinn wore it frightened him. This young boy grew up to a man that soon would face the one who had killed his family. He felt very proud. Kirann opened one of the curtains of the carriage and peered outside.
The street was empty. They were now in a poorer part of town. "I can't escort you any further my son. Now it is all up to you." He bent over to Quinn and gave him the ritual kiss on his forehead. "Be careful my son." Quinn couldn't answer since he had a lump of fear in his throat. So he just nodded and he left the carriage.

The infiltration

He waited in a dark porch until he couldn't hear the sounds of hooves any more. Than he went on his way to the night club "Red Velvet". He entered the slums of the city. The streets got smaller and darker and dirty, with open sewers on both sides. His coat was open in the front and his see trough shirt got soaking wet. Well at least his body temperature dropped. Since vampires had lower body temperatures than normal elves depending on when they have fed. In the distance he saw the lantern outside of the club. A bouncer stood on each side of the door. Quinn straightened his back and tried to look as confident as he could and walked strait to the door.
The bouncers stepped in front of the door. Quinn looked at them and flashed his fake fangs. And they stepped aside so he could open the door. Quinn was glad he had practiced flashing his fangs for hours in front of the mirror. Inside it was warm and noisy. The room was lightened by candles placed in red glass lanterns. In the back there was a small podium where a woman was singing in a low sexy voice and several ladies in different stages of undress were dancing. In front of the stage were tables and chairs where some vampires were drinking and watching the ladies. On the left side was a bar.
He walked to the bar and sat on one of the bar stools. A  young vampire barmaid with amber colored eyes walked up to him. "I haven't seen you here before you handsome" she said in sexy voice. "What can I serve you? A Bloody Mary? You look like you could use some warming up." Quinn swallowed, he had to stay calm or she would notice he wasn't a vampire. But couldn't help that he turned just a little darker in his face. "No thanks I prefer my blood fresh and warm" he said. The barmaid giggled. Thinking he colored a little because he liked her. "A beer then?" "Yes please." said Quinn. And she placed a large tankard of beer in front of him. "Do you know a place where I can get a room for the day?" he asked her. "You are not from around here" said she "Not many here even know the meaning of the word please." The door of the Red Velvet opened and a group of vampires poured in. Quinn wanted to look but the eyes of the bar maid held him while she said " Well you might please me.... or would you rather have your own room? We have some vacant." Quinn felt a little sweat in his hand palms and cooled them against his glass before he answered ", One single room for me please". The barmaid giggled end she took a key from a board behind her and placed it in front of Quinn on the bar. Covering the key with her hand while she looked at Quinn from under her long eye lashes. "Room 2 is yours for one gold a week and you have to pay in advance: said she. Quinn took a gold coin out of his purse an laid it on the bar beside her hand making sure he didn't touch hers.
Suddenly he felt a strong hand on his shoulder. Quinn tensed and a voice said: Are you teasing the customers again Seleenn? If you want to be pleased, come to my room." Her eyes opened wide when she looked at the customer. "Finn, you are back!" And she ran from behind the bar and threw herself in to the mans arms. Finn laughed and winked to Quinn. " She always thinks I am dead if I stay away for a few months". He placed Seleenn back on her feet. "I need a beer" he said to her and took the bar stool beside Quinn. "And who are you? I don't think I have seen you around." He said to Quinn. Quinn looked at the vampire beside him. He was a brown skin just like him. Not very handsome but strong and heavy build for a dark elf. His bare arms were covered in scars
